🧊 the drip drip drip of winter

TLDR: Journal Circle is TONIGHT! There's only a few seats left, save yours here

Hi there friend, I hope you are well, and that you are safe. With news of wildfires and ceasefires, my heart has felt heavy, even as I find silver linings of relief.

I have been mindful of how much I am letting into my world, these days. We are still in the depths of winter where I live, still in the time of year where the snow is falling thick on the ground and it's well below freezing.

I'm not doing this with the intention to close myself off, just with acceptance that my energy has limits on it these days. I am resourced with less sunlight, buried under layers of wool, eating food grown and harvested months ago. I am doing the best with what I have and where I am.

Seasonal wisdom reminds us that hardening and persevering helps us get through the heart of winter. We must remember how to thaw too, but that may be wisdom for a season yet to come.

It can be challenging for many of us when we shift to a new calendar year and think about the year ahead. We often have big dreams but within a few weeks, our dreams can feel very far off. We harden against ourselves, thinking that tough love and muscling through is the only way we will get things done, the only way we can change.

Do you know the story of Capricorn? It is the Greek story of Pan, a goat-man god, who dove into a river to escape a monster and attempted to change himself into a fish. Only part of him transformed, so he had the head and body of a goat and the rear of a fish.

We are in the tail end of Capricorn season now, the last few days when the sun shines in Capricorn until nearly a year from now, at the solstice in December.

I am here to tell you, we are in winter, which is a good season for dreaming. It is a good season to let the dark be dark, to go to bed early, to let your dreams percolate and fortify you through the winter.

I am here to tell you, you can only take one step at a time, and where you are now is the best place you can begin.

I am here to tell you, you do not have to have your eye fixated on change to change. Change is unfolding, always. The self who is reading these words now has already, surprisingly, changed from the self who opened this note in your inbox. You do not need to plan to change, only continue turning towards your dream in whatever way you can today β€” with softness and compassion for your tender, human self.

Let yourself be intimate and hold close the rhythms that give you support. Let your dreams begin to drip drip drip and transform you, not with hardened plans and forcing through, but with the slow and steady work of putting one foot in front of the other.

You have got this, my friend. Keep going.

🧊 Journal Circle is TONIGHT,
at 8-9pm EST / 5-6pm PST 🧊

As of this writing, we've only got a couple spots left. I'd love to have you join this sweet group of humans exploring what's coming up in our experience here, in this moment. Tonight, when we gather, the moon will be in Virgo, which feels like such a fortifying complement to the energy of Capricorn.

We'll settle in with a brief mindfulness practice, then get to moving our hands with pens on paper to let out what needs to flow. If that sounds like a dreamy way to spend your Thursday evening, save your spot for free at the link below.

If you aren't able to join tonight, our next event is happening on Thursday, February 13 at 8-9pm EST / 5-6pm PST. You can sign up here!

TLDR: Journal Circle is TONIGHT and we've got a couple spots left. Won't you join us? It's free and happening at 8pm EDT / 5PM PDT. Join tonight I have been considering Journal Circle and how I am being called to make this a more lunar space. I have been in a journalling practice with the moon more overtly the past couple months, and I see now how it is changing me. How the moon is always shifting, our great luminary of reflection, changing its shape steadily and adapting to different...

TLDR: our free monthly Journal Circle is happening this Thursday, join us!Sign up here Something special always starts happening this time of year β€” I finally get more regular access to that spark of energy I've been waiting on for months. All of the big goals I've been percolating? All the momentum I was hoping for in January? It's coming in hot now. Maybe that's always the way it is with transition periods. I have been reflecting on how nature is often my starting place for these...

Hi folks, and happy April! It's a new month, and I'm going to share a round up of all the things happening in my orbit this month. I've made a decision I've been mulling over: starting in May, you can choose to make a donation when joining Journal Circle! I love offering this space, and I want to support others trying to make a positive ding in the world while I share my way of doing that too. My goal is to choose a grassroots, locally-oriented charity every month, to highlight valuable work...
