โช๏ธ slowing down amidst the hubbub

๐Ÿ Racing to the finishline

Hi there friend, I hope this finds you well. It's the last day of November (?!?๐Ÿคฏ), so I wanted to do a little roundup on what the next couple weeks will look like in this corner of the internet.

The pace of this season never ceases to amaze me โ€” it feels like I blinked in September and suddenly we're closing in on the holidays. It's a good noticing for me, since when my sense of time passing starts to get faster, it's usually because I'm in the habit of racing to finishlines/goalposts/milestones. And, to remember, that it takes time a while to slow back down after I've reached them.

It requires a lot of settling to actually FEEL time passing more slowly. So much of how we sense the passage of time is the pace our nervous systems are used to moving at and, truly, I want to relish the next few weeks. I want the weeks leading up to the end of the year to feel expansive โ€” to feel luxurious and decadent and spacious. I want to enter the new year feeling rested. And if I want that to be true, I need to start preparing for it now. I need to practice slowing down now before I get to "the good part" or, oops, I'll speed right past it.

Easier said than done, I know. But it's an invitation I carry โ€” how can I make this moment feel a little slower? How might the good part be unfolding already, right here and now?

โœ๏ธ Journal Circle

The last Journal Circle of 2023 is one week from today! We're meeting Thursday Dec 7 at our usual time, 8-9pm ET/5-6pm PT. If you'd like to get a little dose of slowing down, this might be a nice hour to practice in the midst of the holiday hubbub.

And consider this your save the date for Journal Circles in the new year:

  • Thursday, January 11th
  • Thursday, February 8th

๐Ÿคฒ Coworking

I continue to find this SUCH a supportive space for finding focus and I'm going to keep the weekly momentum rolling in the new year. I might even add another day of the week?

Two more sessions in 2023 โ€” Monday December 4 and Monday December 11 at 1pm ET/10am PT. We say hi and what we're working on, I play focus music, we get shit done. Join for a session or the series, and you should get the invites when I add more in the new year (warning: new name might be incoming too).

๐Ÿ’Œ Newsletter

I am experimenting with doing more newsletter-style content over on Substack, and so far, energetically, it feels like the right choice. I recently explored what rooms feel interesting and create new possibilities, and what types of rooms feel like the polar opposite. If you enjoy and miss my longer-form writing, I'd love to invite you to join me in that space.

TLDR: Journal Circle is TONIGHT! There's only a few seats left, save yours here Hi there friend, I hope you are well, and that you are safe. With news of wildfires and ceasefires, my heart has felt heavy, even as I find silver linings of relief. I have been mindful of how much I am letting into my world, these days. We are still in the depths of winter where I live, still in the time of year where the snow is falling thick on the ground and it's well below freezing. I'm not doing this with...

TLDR: Journal Circle is TONIGHT and we've got a couple spots left. Won't you join us? It's free and happening at 8pm EDT / 5PM PDT. Join tonight I have been considering Journal Circle and how I am being called to make this a more lunar space. I have been in a journalling practice with the moon more overtly the past couple months, and I see now how it is changing me. How the moon is always shifting, our great luminary of reflection, changing its shape steadily and adapting to different...

TLDR: our free monthly Journal Circle is happening this Thursday, join us!Sign up here Something special always starts happening this time of year โ€” I finally get more regular access to that spark of energy I've been waiting on for months. All of the big goals I've been percolating? All the momentum I was hoping for in January? It's coming in hot now. Maybe that's always the way it is with transition periods. I have been reflecting on how nature is often my starting place for these...
